Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups herbal tea leaves or tea bags your choice of herbal flavor
  • 1 cup hot water for brewing the tea
  • 2 cups crushed ice adjust to desired slushiness
  • 1 tablespoon honey for sweetness, optional
  • 1 teaspoon citrus zest or juice lemon or orange for a bright flavor

  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Tall glass or serving jar

Method
 

  1. Brew the herbal tea by pouring hot water over the tea leaves or bags, then steeping for about 5 minutes until fully infused. Remove the tea bags or strain out the leaves and let the tea cool to room temperature.
  2. Place the crushed ice in a blender, then pour the cooled tea over the ice. Add the lemon or orange juice and zest, along with the honey if you prefer a touch of sweetness.
  3. Blend on high until the mixture is smooth and frosty, with no large ice chunks remaining. The texture should be thick and slushy, holding its shape but easy to scoop.
  4. Taste the slushie and adjust sweetness or citrus flavor if needed by adding more honey or juice, then blend briefly to incorporate.
  5. Pour the vibrant, frosty slushie into tall glasses or jars, and garnish with a small citrus wedge or a sprig of herbs if desired for presentation.
  6. Enjoy immediately with a straw or spoon, relishing the cool, refreshing texture and zesty flavors.

Notes

For extra flavor, add fresh mint leaves during blending or top the finished slushie with a drizzle of honey.
