Method
- Brew the herbal tea by pouring hot water over the tea leaves or bags, then steeping for about 5 minutes until fully infused. Remove the tea bags or strain out the leaves and let the tea cool to room temperature.
- Place the crushed ice in a blender, then pour the cooled tea over the ice. Add the lemon or orange juice and zest, along with the honey if you prefer a touch of sweetness.
- Blend on high until the mixture is smooth and frosty, with no large ice chunks remaining. The texture should be thick and slushy, holding its shape but easy to scoop.
- Taste the slushie and adjust sweetness or citrus flavor if needed by adding more honey or juice, then blend briefly to incorporate.
- Pour the vibrant, frosty slushie into tall glasses or jars, and garnish with a small citrus wedge or a sprig of herbs if desired for presentation.
- Enjoy immediately with a straw or spoon, relishing the cool, refreshing texture and zesty flavors.
Notes
For extra flavor, add fresh mint leaves during blending or top the finished slushie with a drizzle of honey.
