  • 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted
  • 2 tablespoons sugar or honey adjust to taste
  • 1 cup ice cubes crushed or whole
  • 1/2 cup water or apple juice for blending

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Wash and pit the cherries, removing stems and pits.
  2. Add the cherries, sweetener, water (or juice), and ice cubes into the blender. Make sure the ice is evenly distributed.
  3. Start blending on low speed, then gradually increase to high until the mixture is smooth and icy, about 30-45 seconds. The slushie should be thick with tiny ice crystals.
  4. Pause the blender and check the texture; add a little more water if it's too thick, then blend briefly to incorporate.
  5. Pour the cherry slushie into glasses, filling them generously.
  6. Enjoy immediately with a straw or a spoon for maximum refreshment and visual appeal.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a squeeze of lemon or a dash of vanilla extract before blending.
