Ingredients

  • 3 ripe avocados halved, pitted
  • 1 lime lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 0.5 tsp salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil optional, for creaminess
  • 1 bag tortilla chips for serving

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Silicone mold or template of bat shape
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Serving platter

Method

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
  2. Add freshly squeezed lime juice and minced garlic to the bowl with avocados.
  3. Use a fork or potato masher to mash the avocados until smooth but still slightly chunky.
  4. Stir in salt and olive oil to enhance flavor and creaminess.
  5. Spread the guacamole into a thin, even layer on a flat surface or a silicone mold shaped like a bat.
  6. Use a knife to carefully outline bat wings and ears, shaping the guacamole into distinct bat silhouettes.
  7. Gently lift the bat-shaped guacamole from the mold and place it onto a serving platter.
  8. Arrange tortilla chips around the bat-shaped guacamole, creating a spooky scene with dark silhouettes.
  9. Optional: Use additional chips to add smaller bat wings for extra detail.
  10. Serve immediately, allowing guests to scoop up the festive guacamole with the crispy chips.

Notes

For best results, prepare the guacamole just before shaping to prevent browning. Using a silicone mold makes shaping easier and cleaner.
